Ketchikan is an Alaskan city facing the Inside Passage, a popular cruise route along the state's southeastern coast. It's known for its many Native American totem poles, on display throughout town. Nearby Misty Fiords National Monument is a glacier-carved wilderness featuring snowcapped mountains, waterfalls and salmon spawning streams. It's also home to rich wildlife including black bears, wolves and bald eagles. (Wikipedia)

A Day In Ketchikan
After a day of Scenic Cruising we get to our first port, Ketchikan Alaska. Ketchikan bills itself as Alaska's first city, due to its status as the first stop for most cruise ships. As shown in the first few pictures, the port area is filled with the same stores and industries common to many ports in Alaska and the Caribbean. Once you get out of the port area, it is a very nice area. We had a good day for the visit, with the temperature having a bit of a chill and the rain staying away other than a small mist this morning.
